WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd November, 2018) White House National Security Adviser John Bolton said in a statement on Wednesday that he looks forward to meeting Brazilian President-Elect Jair Bolsonaro in Rio de Janeiro next Thursday.
"Look forward to seeing Brazil's next President Jair Bolsonaro in Rio on November 29th," Bolton said via Twitter.
"We share many bilateral interests and will work closely on expanding freedom and prosperity throughout the Western Hemisphere."
Bolsonaro from the right-wing Social Liberal Party won the presidential election in October, and is set to be sworn in on January 1, 2019.
Earlier this month, Incumbent Brazilian President Michel Temer said he had invited Bolsonaro to accompany him on his trips abroad, particularly the G20 summit that is held in Buenos Aires on November 20 to December 1. There is no official confirmation on whether Bolsonaro will attend the summit.
