SARAJEVO,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2018 ) :Bosnian authorities have expressed concern over the possibility that thousands of Bosnian citizens whose asylum claims have been rejected in Western European countries and the US might be deported to their country of origin, says ANSA report here on Tuesday.

An estimated 30,000 may soon be returned to Bosnia and the current facilities, according to an official at the Ministry for Refugees and the Displaced of the Republika Srpska (RS,Serbian-majority part of Bosnia) are insufficient for the reception and reintegration of those expected to be returned and that when visa restrictions were lifted in 2010, had sold everything and moved to various European countries where they are now living.

Special concern has focused on the large number of people of the Roma ethnic group, who are originally from the Western Balkans and currently in Italy, and for whom it will be difficult to organize reception facilities for if deportations are stepped up in line with readmission accords.

After the end of the 1992-95 war, one out of every five Bosnians left the country. The population is 3.5 million according to a 2013 census, a 20% drop from what it was in 1991.
