Calls For Unauthorized Rallies May Lead To Paris Events - Putin

Calls for unauthorized rallies may lead to events like violent protests in Paris, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Presidential Human Rights Council on Tuesday.
The protests of the "yellow vests", who initially opposed the increase in gasoline prices, and then started complaining about the social situation in France, began on November 17.
Mass protests taking place on Saturdays are accompanied by clashes with police, outrages and arson of cars, destruction of shops and banks.
"It was about calls for unauthorized rallies, processions, and so on. You and I do not want us to have events similar to [those in] Paris, where they dismantle paving stones and burn everything. The country then plunges into the conditions of a state of emergency," Putin said when asked to review the case of human rights activist Lev Ponomaryov.
