Caracas Buys 300 Tonnes Of Medicines From Russia Amid Crisis - Nutrition Ministry

BUENOS AIRES (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd February, 2019) The Venezuelan government bought 300 tonnes of medicines and medical equipment from Russia, the country's Nutrition Ministry said on Thursday amid political and economic crisis in the Latin American country.
A diplomatic source told Sputnik on Wednesday that Russia had delivered medicines and medical equipment to the Caracas airport.
"Some 300 tonnes of medicines, which arrived from Russia, will be available to the [Venezuelan] people, this is a technical assistance, which was paid for by the Venezuelan government," the ministry said on Twitter.
Earlier on Thursday, the Venezuelan deputy foreign minister told Sputnik that Russia did not deliver humanitarian assistance to Venezuela, but only goods under commercial contracts.
