Central Asian, Indian, Afghan Foreign Ministers to Discuss Trade, Tourism - Tashkent

Heads of foreign ministries of Central Asian states, India and Afghanistan will discuss cooperation in investment, trade and tourism during the first joint meeting in Samarkand set for January 12-13, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said Wednesday in a statement

TASHKENT (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th January, 2019) Heads of foreign ministries of Central Asian states, India and Afghanistan will discuss cooperation in investment, trade and tourism during the first joint meeting in Samarkand set for January 12-13, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said Wednesday in a statement.

The meeting will be attended by foreign ministers of India, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan as well as by first deputy foreign minister of Kazakhstan.

"Participants of the meeting will discuss promising areas of cooperation in promoting mutual trade, development of transport and logistics, attracting investment, innovation and technologies in key industries, energy, information technologies, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, as well as issues of interaction in the spheres of culture, science, education and tourism," the statement reads.

The participants intend to adopt a joint statement after the meeting, according to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
