Cheburashka Creator Eduard Uspensky Passes Away in Moscow - Reports

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) Writer Eduard Uspensky, the creator of iconic Cheburashka and Uncle Fyodor characters, passed away in Moscow at the age of 80, media reported on Tuesday.

The writer's wife confirmed his death, according to Moskva 24 broadcaster.

A number of Uspensky's children's books were adapted into cartoons beloved by several generations of children.

Cheburashka, a made-up animal which resembles a mix of a monkey and a lemur, has become famous in some countries outside the Soviet Union, including Japan.
