MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th January, 2019) Chilean President Sebastian Pinera said Friday that a blast that injured five at a bus stop in downtown Santiago was being treated as an act of terrorism.
"We do not only categorically condemn the attack in Santiago that used explosives. We have also filed a complaint against those responsible under the anti-terror law," he tweeted.
The blast at an intersection of Vicuna Mackenna and Francisco Bilbao avenues hurt three Chileans and a Venezuelan couple. Metropolitan Gov. Karla Rubilar said their lives were not in danger.
Interior Minister Andres Chadwick visited the injured at a hospital. He confirmed that the case was being investigated as a terrorist offense, according to the ministry's crime prevention department.
