China and Pakistan will enhance cooperation in the fight against terrorism, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday
"We have reached consensus on the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of security and the fight against terrorism," Wang said following his meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
He also added that China highly appreciates recent measures Pakistan carries out to fight against terrorism. Moreover, he stressed that Beijing shares Islamabad's intentions to bring the fight to its conclusion.
"The international community should respect long-term obligations and efforts that Pakistan makes in the fight against terrorism," the minister added.
The meeting came amid Qureshi's three-day visit to Beijing aimed to deepen Pakistan-China foreign ministers' strategic dialogue. Besides terrorism, politicians have discussed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the situation in Afghanistan.
