Xi had also given instructions to draw lessons from the situation, the CCTV broadcaster reported.

The powerful blast hit the facility in the city of Yancheng, located in China's eastern Jiangsu province, on Thursday. According to local authorities, there are currently 3,500 medics working to provide support to those affected by the incident.
