Chinese Foreign Ministry Considers Planned Visit Of Kim Jong Un To Russia Important Event

BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th April, 2019) The planned visit of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Russia is a very important event, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Hanhui said Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Kim in Russia later in April.

"The upcoming visit of the Korean leader to Russia is a very important event.

Russia has a very important and positive influence on the Korean Peninsula. Russia has made a very important contribution to maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and to resolving the Korean nuclear issue," Zhang told reporters.

Meanwhile, media reports emerged in mid-April that the meeting between Putin and Kim could be held in Vladivostok on April 24. North Korean official Kim Chang Son was spotted in Vladivostok on Wednesday, when he was examining security measures at a local railway station.
