BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2018 ) :A joint photo exhibition by a Chinese and a Japanese photographer was launched in Beijing as the two artists called for more people-to-people exchanges.

The exhibition in Beijing Foreign Studies University was themed "lofty mountains and flowing water," literally depicting Fuji Mountain in Japan and the Yellow River in China, with over 40 pictures by Li Changsuo and Goto Yoki.

The theme also refers to an ancient Chinese anecdote pertaining to long-lasting friendship.

"This year marks the 40th anniversary of the signing of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship," said Li Changsuo, a member of China Photographers Association.

"The purpose of the photo exhibition is to promote mutual understanding between the two peoples." "My Japanese students are keen to learn about China," said Li, who teaches in Josai University in Sakado, Japan.

"I hope I can contribute to China-Japan communication in this way," said Goto Yoki, vice president of the Overseas Chinese Photographer Association in Japan.

Goto said cultural exchange between the two countries had touched upon many aspects, including photography, calligraphy, traditional clothing and tea rituals.
