Chinese President Xi Jinping is planning to visit North Korea and South Korea in 2019, local media reported on Saturday.
TOKYO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th November, 2018) Chinese President Xi Jinping is planning to visit North Korea and South Korea in 2019, local media reported on Saturday.
On Saturday, Xi and his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in held a meeting on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, currently underway in Papua New Guinea.
The Yonhap news agency reported, citing the South Korean presidential office, that Xi accepted Moon's invitation to visit Seoul in 2019, while he also said that he would travel to North Korea in 2019 upon the invitation from Kim Jong Un, the country's leader.
During their meeting, Xi and Moon discussed the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, among other things. Xi pledged that China would continue playing a constructive role in the peace process.
