Chinese President Xi Jinping will make a state visit to Russia in 2019, Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Hanhui said on Monday.

BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd October, 2018) Chinese President Xi Jinping will make a state visit to Russia in 2019, Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Hanhui said on Monday.

"At the invitation of [Russian] President [Vladimir Putin], our President Xi Jinping will make a state visit to Russia next year ...

During this visit, we will organize a number of events to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. I believe that during these meetings we will have new opportunities to increase our cooperation," Zhang told reporters.

Earlier in October, Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino said that Putin expected to meet with Xi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in November in Buenos Aires.
