CIS Forces Will Free 'Hostages' During Anti-Hijacking Drills - Anti-Terrorism Center

CHOLPON-ATA (Kyrgyzstan) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) ATA (Kyrgyzstan), September 25 (Sputnik) - Security forces and intelligence agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States nations will free hostages during a simulated plane hijacking as part of the joint anti-terror drills on Tuesday, the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center said.
The Issyk-Kul Anti-Terror 2018 drills are being held in three stages.
The first one, which finished in early September, provided for the detection and elimination of terrorist sleeper cells, as well as prevention of terrorist attacks.
The second phase which envisages anti-hijacking drills will be held in Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday, with the last one slated for Wednesday.
The chiefs of the countries' security and intelligence agencies will also gather for a two-day meeting to discuss the drills' results and work out measures to improve counterterrorism efforts, according to the center.
