CSTO General Staffs' Heads Discuss Creation Of Unified Air Defense System - Gerasimov

Heads of the general staffs of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states discussed the creation of a unified air defense system as well as logistical support for the organization's forces, Chief of Russia's General Staff Valery Gerasimov said Friday.
ALMATY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th October, 2018) Heads of the general staffs of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states discussed the creation of a unified air defense system as well as logistical support for the organization's forces, Chief of Russia's General Staff Valery Gerasimov said Friday.
"We discussed issues of security in the CSTO's area of responsibility, issues related to improving air defense in the regions of collective security as well as issues related to logistics, which will be further worked out, and a number of other issues," Gerasimov told reporters.
His Kazakh counterpart, Murat Maikeev, said that the sides also exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia and developed a number of measures, details of which were not disclosed.
The next meeting of the military committee will be held in Kyrgyzstan.
The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
