Czech Republic's President Milos Zeman will visit Israel on November 25-29, where he will hold talks with the Israeli leadership and deliver a speech at the country's parliament, Knesset, Rudolf Jindrak, director of the International Affairs Department of the Czech Republic's Presidential Office, said on Tuesday.
PRAGUE (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) The Czech Republic's President Milos Zeman will visit Israel on November 25-29, where he will hold talks with the Israeli leadership and deliver a speech at the country's parliament, Knesset, Rudolf Jindrak, director of the International Affairs Department of the Czech Republic's Presidential Office, said on Tuesday.
"Mr. President will hold talks with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Several ministers and a big delegation of Czech businesspeople will accompany the president during the trip," Jindrak told reporters.
According to Jindrak, Zeman is also expected to deliver a speech at the Knesset and take part in the opening ceremony of the Czech House in Jerusalem, which Zeman himself considers as the first step to the relocation of the Czech Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
In May, the Czech Republic opened a honorary consulate in Jerusalem.
The issue of recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has been in the spotlight of media and governments across the world in the wake of the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv, which was announced by US President Donald Trump in December, and implemented in May.
Zeman, known as a supporter of Israel, has approved Trump's move. He also spoke about the relocation of the Czech Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, mentioning it for the first time during his visit to the middle Eastern country in 2013.
