DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned on Friday US President Donald Trump's statement on the necessity to fully recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
Trump made the statement on Thursday via Twitter, noting that this move would be of "critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and regional stability.
"
"Syria harshly condemns Trump's irresponsible statements about the occupied Golan Heights, which prove once again that the United States blindly follows the Zionist occupant entity and unlimitedly supports its aggression," the ministry said in a statement obtained by Sputnik.
"The international community has now understood that the United States and its reckless policies, guided by arrogance and ambition of hegemony, are the main factors fueling the situation in the international arena and threatening peace and stability," the ministry added.
