Data Link Wins $386Mln Tactical Radios Contract For US Navy, Air Force, Allies - Pentagon

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th September, 2018) Data Link Solutions has received a more than $386 million contract to supply Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) and Tactical Targeting Network Technology to the US Navy and Air Force and 24 US allied nations, the Department of Defense said.
"Data Link Solutions [of] Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $386,917,271... contract... [for] Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS)," the Defense Department said in a press release on Tuesday.
The Defense Department explained the contract will also cover MIDS JTRS Modernization Increment 2 development; upgrade of MIDS JTRS Concurrent Multi-Netting-4 and Tactical Targeting Network Technology.
"This contract combines purchases for the Navy, Air Force and MIDS Program Office, as well as to the governments of Austria, Chile, Finland, Israel, Jordan, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore [and] , Sweden," the release said.
The systems will also be purchased for Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, the release added.
