WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) All countries involved in the ongoing conflict in Syria must avoid military actions after a Russian Il-20 military aircraft was shot down in Syria in Syria, United Nations Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura said during a meeting of the Security Council on Tuesday.
"Just as we are seeing crisis in Idlib averted, and that is very good news, we are seeing worrying military activities elsewhere," de Mistura said. "We call upon all parties ... to refrain from military actions elsewhere that would only exacerbate an already complex situation."
