Death Toll From Chemical Plant Blast In China's Yancheng Climbs To 44 People - City Mayor

BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) The number of people killed by the blast at a chemical plant in the city of Yancheng in eastern China rose to 44, while 32 people are in critical condition and 58 others sustained grave injuries in the incident, the city mayor said on Friday.
"As a result of the incident at the Tianjiayi plant, 44 people died, 32 people are in critical condition and 58 people are in grave condition," Cao Lubao told reporters.
The powerful blast hit the facility on Thursday. The explosion led to a magnitude 2.2 earthquake at the depth of 0 meters not far from the site of the incident.
