A high-ranking delegation of the Syrian Defense Ministry will take part in the annual conference on international security in Moscow, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad told Sputnik on Friday
"There will be a delegation of the Ministry of Defense, a high-level delegation," Haddad said.
He also noted that it was still unclear whether or not Syrian Defense Minister Ali Abdullah Ayoub would be present.
The annual Conference on International Security, organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense since 2012, will be held in Moscow on April 23-25 and will mainly focus on the crucial issues of the international security.
The participants are going to discuss situation in the middle East with an emphasis on nation-wide stabilization of Syria. In addition, the conference's panel sessions will consider peacekeeping, military-to-military engagements, regional security in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 1,000 delegates from 101 states are expected to visit the conference, including 30 defense ministers. Over 850 delegates from 95 countries took part in the conference last year.
