DONETSK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th November, 2018) Official delegations from Russia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia as well as public figures from Germany, France, Belgium and Finland later on Tuesday will attend the inauguration ceremony of newly elected head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin, the DPR Foreign Ministry said.
On November 11, the DPR and the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) held leaders' and parliamentary elections. Pushilin was elected DPR head with over 60 percent of the vote.
"Official delegations from Russia, the LPR, South Ossetia, Abkhazia as well as public figures from Belgium, Germany, France, Finland and Spain will take part in solemn events dedicated to the inauguration of the DPR head," the ministry's press service said.
Kiev as well as the European Union and the United States denounced the elections in the self-proclaimed republics as undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, while the Kremlin said the vote did not contradict the Minsk peace agreements, signed in 2015 to end fighting in eastern Ukraine.
