DONETSK (Ukraine) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 17th October, 2018) The Ukrainian forces have violated the ceasefire regime in the eastern region of Donbas some 330 times within last two weeks leaving one person dead and one more injured, a representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) of the ceasefire told reporters.
"On October 2-15, 329 ceasefire violations were committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. One person died, one more was injured," the representative said.
The DPR representative added that the fire opened by the Ukrainian forces damaged 23 residential houses and 13 infrastructure facilities.
The conflict in Donbas started in 2014, when Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the DPR and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), which had refused to recognize the new government in Kiev that came to power after what they considered to be a coup.
In February 2015, the warring parties signed the Minsk peace accords to end the fighting in the region, but the situation has remained tense, with both parties accusing each other of ceasefire violations.
