Dubai-bound Plane Hijacked In Bangladesh

All the passengers have disembarked safely but the suspect is still reportedly inside the flight BG 147.

Dhaka (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th February, 2019) An airplane of Bangladesh was reportedly hijacked at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Sunday.

The Dubai-bound plane of Biman Bangladesh Airlines made an emergency landing at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong over reports of hijacking attempt. The plane was hijacked when it landed at the airport.

All the passengers have disembarked safely but the suspect is still reportedly inside the flight BG 147.

The plane belongs to national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines and was supposed to fly to Dubai from Dhaka via Chittagong.

Media reports have pointed to one crew member being shot and passengers evacuated from the site.

As per the police officials, all the passengers have been evacuated from the flight. The flight landed at Chittagong airport at 5:15 pm after which cops and Rapid Action Battalion arrived at the airport to take stock of the situation and have surrounded the plane.

All flight operations have been halted at the airport.
