ST. PETERSBURG (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 06th June, 2019) The date for a new trilateral meeting of the Netherlands, Australia and Russia on the Boeing MH17 crash in the eastern Ukrainian breakaway region of Donbas has not been set yet, Dutch Ambassador to Russia Renee Jones-Bos told Sputnik on Thursday, adding that discussions on the issue were underway.
In March, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko confirmed that Russia, the Netherlands and Australia had held a meeting on the Boeing MH17 crash and said that the parties of the trilateral meeting agreed that the consultations would remain confidential.
"I cannot announce any dates yet.
Process [of discussion] is ongoing. We would like to hold good talks," the ambassador said on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The MH17 flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed near the city of Donetsk on July 17, 2014. All 298 passengers, mostly Dutch nationals, and crew members were killed. Kiev accused local militias of downing the aircraft, while they said that had no weapons capable of downing such a plane.
The SPIEF economic forum has opened on Thursday and will run through Saturday. The Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is its official media partner.
