Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has described a breakfast meeting with his UK counterpart Theresa May as "useful dialogue," during which they discussed the situation around Brexit.
"This morning I received PM @Theresa_May in The Hague for a breakfast meeting in preparation for the European Council later this week. A useful dialogue which saw us discuss the latest #Brexit developments," Rutte wrote on Twitter.
Later in the day, May will also hold talks with European Council President Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
May is currently on a one-day trip to Europe to gain reassurances on the Brexit deal from the European leaders. This follows her decision to postpone the vote on the agreement in the UK parliament, which was initially scheduled for Tuesday.
The prime minister told the House of Commons on Monday that she would discuss the concerns of lawmakers regarding Northern Ireland with her EU counterparts. May pledged to do everything in her power to "secure further assurances."
