Eight Syrian Soldiers Injured After Militants Shell Latakia Province - Russian Military

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 08th November, 2018) As many as eight Syrian servicemen were wounded as a result of shelling by militants in the Latakia province over the past 24 hours, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said on Wednesday.
"Over the past 24 hours, four shelling attacks were registered. Eight soldiers of the Syrian Arab Republic were injured as a result of shelling by the militants ... of Herbet al-Arus settlement in Latakia province," Lt. Gen.
Vladimir Savchenko told a daily briefing.
He added that the representatives of the Reconciliation Center had held a working meeting with the officials from the local administration of Marrat settlement in Deir ez-Zor province to discuss infrastructure projects.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia along with Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
