ROME (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 08th December, 2018) :Parapets collapsed at the entry of a nightclub in the Italian town of Corinaldo when people were escaping a stampede that had started inside the building, the head of the local police department said Saturday.
Media reported earlier in the day that six people were killed and dozens injured in a stampede during a concert at the Lanterna Azzurra nightclub in Italy's Corinaldo. The panic was reportedly caused by somebody using pepper spray in the crowd.
"Two metal parapets collapsed at the entry and people started falling one over another," Oreste Capocaza said.
The incident is being investigated. Reportedly, the number of people at the concert exceeded the maximum capacity of the nightclub.
