MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th May, 2019) European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmstrom is scheduled to visit Kiev on May 20-21 to meet with the Ukrainian prime minister and members of parliament, and attend trade consultations, the European Commission announced on Friday.

"Ms Cecilia Malmstrom in Kiev, Ukraine (until 21/05): meets Mr Volodymyr Groysman, Prime Minister of Ukraine; meets with Members of the Ukrainian Parliament (Rada); and participates in an event with young professionals and students at the Kiev school of Economics," the data entry in the Commissioners' weekly Calendar indicates.

According to the calendar, she will also attend the 2nd Informal Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas Ministerial meeting.

A source in the European Union structures has confirmed to Sputnik that Malmstrom will "attend consultations related to trade affairs" and that her visit is not directly related to the inauguration of president-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy on May 20.
