MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2018) European Council President Donald Tusk will hold a meeting with UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Thursday on the sidelines of an informal summit of the leaders of EU member states in the Austrian city of Salzburg.
The sides will discuss the continuation of Brexit talks and such fundamental issues as the future economic relationship between Brussels and London and the status of the land border with Ireland.
After the meeting, there will be a press conference.
On September 10, EU chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said that London and Brussels could finalize their agreements on Brexit in late October or the beginning of November.
The United Kingdom and the European Union have to address three important issues, which will enable the smooth Brexit process with respect for the two parties' interests, including to finalize a treaty on the UK departure from the European Union, resolve the issue of the Irish border and decide on the format of future relations.
Tusk previously said that he plans to convene a special summit in mid-November to finalize all issues related to the deal on UK withdrawal from the bloc.
