Ex-US Intelligence Official Pleads Guilty To Attempted Espionage For China - Justice Dept.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th March, 2019) A 58-year-old former officer with the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has entered a guilty plea on charges that he attempted to pass classified materials to China, the Department of Justice announced in a press release.
"As [Ron Rockwell] Hansen admitted in the plea agreement, in early 2014, agents of a Chinese intelligence service targeted Hansen for recruitment and he began meeting with them regularly in China," the release said Friday. "During the course of his relationship with the agents of the Chinese intelligence service, Hansen received hundreds of thousands of Dollars in compensation for information he provided."
