WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st November, 2018) Senator Dianne Feinstein announced in a statement that she will vote to oppose all future US arms sales and financial aid to Saudi Arabia.
"I plan to vote against any future arms sales and appropriation to Saudi Arabia," Feinstein said on Tuesday. "I also believe that the United States should consider sanctions against the crown prince and that the Saudi ambassador to the United States should not be allowed to continue in that role."
Feinstein expressed shock that US President Donald Trump had said there would be no punishment for Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the killing of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, the statement said.
"The facts are clear. Khashoggi, a US resident and columnist for a US newspaper, was killed by agents of the Saudi government in a Saudi consulate. This was a premeditated murder, plain and simple," Feinstein said.
As Saudi security organizations were under the absolute control of the crown prince, there was every reason to believe he gave the order, Feinstein added.
Late last week, the CIA released its conclusions on the murder of Khashoggi, finding that Mohammad bin Salman had directly ordered the hit.
