Final Composition Of Syrian Commission May Be Announced In Astana Or Geneva - Opposition

The final composition of the Syrian constitutional commission may be announced at the 12th round of Astana talks in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan or in Geneva in several week, the head of the Syrian opposition delegation, Ahmad Tomah, told Sputnik

NUR-SULTAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th April, 2019) The final composition of the Syrian constitutional commission may be announced at the 12th round of Astana talks in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan or in Geneva in several week, the head of the Syrian opposition delegation, Ahmad Tomah, told Sputnik.

The first round of Astana-12 talks started with a series of closed-door discussions on Thursday.

"There are two options: one is to reach an agreement and announce the Names of the commission members and procedures at this round [of Astana talks]. The other one is to reach an agreement during this round and announce the names in Geneva in the coming weeks. The situation seems likely, everything is going well," Tomah said.

Tomah added that there were now six remaining commissioners out of 150 to be agreed on.
