Finnish Foreign Ministry Summons Russian Ambassador Over GPS Glitches Scandal - Reports

Russian Ambassador in Helsinki Pavel Kuznetsov has been summoned to the Finnish Foreign Ministry over the alleged Russian involvement in GPS glitches during the recent NATO drills, local media reported, citing the minister.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th November, 2018) Russian Ambassador in Helsinki Pavel Kuznetsov has been summoned to the Finnish Foreign Ministry over the alleged Russian involvement in GPS glitches during the recent NATO drills, local media reported, citing the minister.

According to the STT news agency, Foreign Minister Timo Soini said that the diplomat was requested to come to the ministry on Monday morning.

The Trident Juncture exercises, held on October 25 - November 7 in several northern European countries, including Finland, were overshadowed by several instances in which pilots reported losing GPS signals.

Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila said on Sunday they were being investigated as possible jamming by Russia.

Commenting on the claims last Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he had no knowledge of the country's alleged role in the glitches, noting that "there is an obvious trend to blame Russia for everything," often without providing any proof.
