MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th March, 2019) The first funeral for a victim of deadly mosque shootings in New Zealand's city of Christchurch will be held later on Wednesday, Radio NZ reported, citing Christchurch city council.
Meanwhile, Mike Bush, the commissioner of the New Zealand Police, said at a press conference on Wednesday that the bodies of 21 victims had been identified so far.
"We expect 27 to have been identified by midday ...
It was our intention to have this process complete by Wednesday, but some the bodies will take longer to identify. Victims [are of] our priority but we also have important obligations," Bush wrote on his Twitter blog.
Last Friday, New Zealand was rocked by two consecutive terrorist mass shootings at Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Center in Christchurch, the largest city on the South Island. The tragedy left 50 people dead and 50 more injured.
