Five Law Enforcement Officers Shot, 1 Dead In US State Of S. Carolina - Reports

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 04th October, 2018) Five law enforcement officers have been shot, leaving one dead, during an incident in the city of Florence in the US state of South Carolina, local media reported.

The victims include three Florence County deputies and two Florence City police officers, local ABC affiliate WPDE reported on Wednesday.

WPDE added that the Florence County Sheriff's Office confirmed that one officer with Florence City Police Department has died. Two other officers were described as "touch and go," the report said.

South Carolina's Florence County Emergency Management in a tweet said the active shooting situation is over and the suspect is in custody.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in a statement via Twitter that it has special agents from the Charlotte Field Division on the scene of the officer-involved shooting.
