Football: Olympiakos appoint Bento as new coach

PIRAEUS, Greece, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th August, 2016) - Former Portugal coach Paulo Bento has been appointed as the new coach of Olympiakos, the Greek champions announced on Thursday. Bento, 47, replaces Spain's Victor Sanchez who was let go by the club after their embarrassing exit from the Champions League third qualifying round to Israeli side Hapoel Beer-Sheva last week.

Olympiakos did not announce the duration of the contract but Greek media reports said it is for two years. Bento coached the Portuguese national team from 2010 to 2014 and on a club level has been in charge at Sporting Lisbon and, briefly, at Cruzeiro in Brazil.
