SHANGHAI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th August, 2016) : Two goals from former Inter Milan and Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins saw runaway Chinese Super League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande stumble to a 2-1 defeat at third-placed Shanghai Shenhua. The home side took the lead after just five minutes when Martins neatly controlled a pass from Giovanni Moreno, eluded his marker and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner.
Evergrande, managed by former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, were soon back on level terms. China international forward Gao Lin equalised seven minutes later from an improbable tight angle following some dreadful defending from Shenhua centre-back Tao Jin and goalkeeper Li Shuai. An opportunistic strike just before half-time saw Martins score his second of the game and Shenhua went on the clinch their first victory against Evergrande since 2009.
