Former interior minister Noureddine Bedoui has been appointed Algeria's new prime minister following the resignation of the current Cabinet headed by Ahmed Ouyahia, state-run Algeria Press Service news agency reported on Monday

CAIRO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th March, 2019) Former interior minister Noureddine Bedoui has been appointed Algeria's new prime minister following the resignation of the current Cabinet headed by Ahmed Ouyahia, state-run Algeria Press Service news agency reported on Monday.

Algeria is also introducing the post of deputy prime minister, which will be occupied by ex-foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra. He will combine the post of deputy prime minister with the post of foreign minister.

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika announced earlier in the day that he would not be running for a new term in the upcoming presidential election and would postpone the race amid massive protests in the Maghreb country.
