Four Chinese Nationals, Pilot Killed In Nepal Helicopter Crash

ANKARA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Aug, 2024) At least five people, including four Chinese nationals, were killed in a helicopter crash in Nepal on Wednesday afternoon, according to media reports.
The helicopter crashed at 1:54 p.m. local time (0809GMT) in the Nuwakot district of the Bagmati province, killing four Chinese nationals and the pilot, China’s state-run Xinhua news Agency reported.
The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu has also confirmed the death of five Chinese nationals.
There was no immediate word about the cause of the crash.
The ill-fated helicopter was flying from Kathmandu to Syafrubesi in Rasuwa district when it went down in Nuwakot's Shivapuri.
The helicopter lost contact with the control tower in Kathmandu three minutes after taking off, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal said in a statement.
Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed his “sadness” over the incident.
