WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) The Fox news network said in statement on Wednesday that it will support CNN's legal challenge to the Trump administration to regain the press credentials of his White House correspondent Jim Acosta.
"Secret Service passes for White House journalists should never be weaponized," Fox News President Jay Wallace said in the statement.
On Tuesday, CNN filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration demanding that the White House restores Acosta's press credentials.
The White House suspended Acosta's credentials last week after he engaged in a heated exchange with Trump during a press conference following the midterm congressional elections.
Wallace explained that while Fox News does not condone the growing antagonistic tone by both the press and President Donald Trump at media events, it does support a free press as well as access for the media and open exchange.
Fox News also intends to file an amicus brief - a friend of the court brief - with the US District Court in Washington, DC, according to the statement.
