France remains cautious about the provisional terms of UK's exit from the European Union agreed in Brussels, government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux said Wednesday.

PARIS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) France remains cautious about the provisional terms of UK's exit from the European Union agreed in Brussels, government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux said Wednesday.

"It is an encouraging sign considering the events of the past weeks and months, but we remain very cautious.

We will take time to examine the project in detail," Griveaux told reporters at a briefing.

UK and EU negotiators agreed the draft "divorce" deal in Brussels on Tuesday. It defines parameters of UK's departure on March 29, 2019.

The British cabinet will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the deal and its next steps. If they sign off on it, the European Commission will release the 500-page draft and an urgent EU summit may be penciled in for this month.
