Georgia To Hold 2nd Round Of Presidential Elections On Nov. 28 - CEC

TBILISI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) The second round of presidential elections in Georgia will be held on November 28, the country's Central Election Commission (CEC) announced on Wednesday.
"A draft resolution was adopted on holding the second round of presidential elections on November 28," CEC head Tamara Zhvania said at a CEC meeting.
As many as 25 candidates were in the race for the presidency in Georgia on October 28. After all votes were counted, the CEC announced that independent candidate Salome Zourabichvili, who is supported by the ruling Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party received 38.6 percent of the vote, while opposition candidate Grigol Vashadze secured 37.7 percent.
The runoff election is held when none of the candidates gains more than 50 percent of the vote in the first round.
