German Air Force Says So Far Found No Evidence Of Tampering On Merkel's Plane

No indication that the malfunction of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's plane was caused by external interference has been found so far, a representative of the German Air Force told the Focus news outlet on Friday.

The Merkel's plane made an emergency landing in Cologne on Thursday while en route to the G20 summit in Buenos Aires.
"To date, there are no any reference points indicating outside impact [on the plane]," the representative of the German Air Force said, noting that there was also no evidence that pointed to criminal motives behind the malfunction.
An investigation is currently ongoing, and the plane is being checked by a group of technical maintenance specialists.
Earlier in the day, the Rheinische Post newspaper reported that the German authorities suspected criminal motives might had been behind a technical malfunction of Merkel's plane.
