MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to Paris next week for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, the chancellor's spokeswoman said on Friday.

"Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel will go to Paris on March 26, 2019 for a morning meeting in the Elysee palace... The meeting will focus on strengthening multilateralism and the role that Europe and China can play in it," Ulrike Demmer said in a statement.

Merkel will also fly to the city of Assisi in Italy next Friday for the ceremony of presenting Jordanian King Abdullah with the Lamp of Peace award by Franciscan monks for his efforts to promote human rights and inter-faith dialogue.
