German Government On Zelenskyy's Remark: Chancellor Opposes Use Of Nuclear Weapons

BERLIN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 07th October, 2022) German Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposes the use of nuclear weapons, german government spokesman Wolfgang Buchner said on Friday, commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's remark about NATO's "preemptive" strikes on Russia.
Speaking at Australia's Lowy Institute via a video link, Zelenskyy said that NATO should launch "preemptive" strikes on Russia rather than "waiting" for Russia to attack. Commenting on the remark, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik that this is nothing but an appeal to start a world war.
"The chancellor clearly opposes the use of nuclear weapons," Buchner told reporters.
