Germany is interested having Russian products be sold in the country's market, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said Friday
"Of course, we are interested that our goods reach German market. Now, after talks, I understand that our German partners are also interested in our products being here [in the German market]," Patrushev said on the sidelines of the "International Green Week" agricultural exhibition in Berlin.
Patrushev noted that the agricultural trade between Russia and Germany increased by almost 17 percent in 2018 in comparison with the previous year and amounted to $1.6 billion.
"You know that there are certain restrictions, but, nevertheless, despite these limitations, we supply grains and fish here [in Germany].
Dairy products are also quite popular. I think that in the future the list of products imported here will increase," the minister added.
German Agriculture Minister Julia Kloeckner visited the Russian stand at the fair. Patrushev thanked his German counterpart for the opportunity to take part in the exhibition, expressing confidence that this would contribute to further development of bilateral relations between the countries.
The exhibition is being held on January 18-27. The event gathers nearly 1,700 participants from over 60 countries. Russia is represented by the national stand organized by the Russian Export Center, as well as by stands created by the Stavropol Territory, Kaliningrad and Saratov regions, and Republic of Tatarstan.
