Germany's Merkel 'Shocked' By Bomb Blast In Kabul

BERLIN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd November, 2018) German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was shocked by a suicide bomb blast that rippled on Tuesday through downtown Kabul, in a letter to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
"I was deeply shocked by the news of a terror attack on your capital.
I condemn this heinous act in the strongest terms," she said in a message published by the chancellery.
Merkel expressed her condolences to the relatives of those killed and reaffirmed Germany's commitment to support Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism.
The blast hit a banquet hall as the city was marking the anniversary of Prophet Mohammad's birth. At least 55 people died and 83 were injured in the attack condemned by the international community.
