Government Not Changing BISP Name: Fawad Chaudhry

Information minister says different social welfare programs will be launched under the umbrella of proposed Poverty Alleviation ministry in coming days
LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 2nd April 2019) Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has clarified that the government is not changing the name of Benazir Income Support Program.
Talking to journalists, he said the decision was made in the meeting of the Federal cabinet which met in Islamabad on Tuesday.
‘The name of BISP is not going to be changed,” said Fawad Chaudhry, adding the government, however, decided to launch different social welfare program along with the BISP.
Those programs, he added, included affordable housing scheme and Ehsaas. The Prime Minister Imran Khan, said Info Minister, had already launched the programs.
He said the meeting decided the speedy implementation of social welfare projects. He also informed the journalists that the cabinet approved new ministry poverty alleviation.
Fawad Chaudhry further added that the cabinet has also approved the formation of a new ministry for poverty alleviation.
The minister said that the load shedding will not be conducted during the holy month of Ramzan.
To a question, he said the act of wearing army caps by Indian crickets was a clear violation of game rules and that the world laughed at their act.
