Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido confirmed on Saturday that the first truck with humanitarian aid from Brazil entered the country's territory
"Attention, Venezuela! We announce officially that we have already passed the first humanitarian aid cargo across our border with Brazil. This is a great achievement," Guaido said on Twitter.
Earlier, Maria Teresa Belandria, who is an ambassador to Brazil appointed by Guaido, said the first truck with humanitarian aid from Brazil crossed into Venezuela.
The legitimate authorities have not made any comments on the issue so far.
The Venezuelan opposition earlier announced that the delivery of humanitarian aid to the country would begin on Saturday. The country's president Nicolas Maduro said that he completely closed the land border with Brazil, home to one of hubs for humanitarian aid, saying the aid deliveries are a ploy to topple his government.
